College of Registered Nurses Issues Information to RNs and Public on COVID-19
This memo is in response to a number of inquiries related to the dispensing of medications by NPs in Newfoundland and Labrador. NPs can dispense medications. This memo outlines the expectations for NPs contemplating engaging in dispensing. To view the memo, please click here.

Resolutions are an important way to raise issues for discussion by colleagues at the CRNNL Annual Meeting and call for action by Council. Resolutions are advisory in nature and therefore not binding on Council. Resolutions consistent with CRNNL's mandate and role may be submitted by special interest groups or individual members. Resolutions can be submitted by mail, fax or email. View CRNNL's guidelines on submission of resolutions. The deadline for submission of resolutions is May 15, 2020.
The document Standards of Practice for Registered Nurses and Nurse Practitioners (2019) has been approved by CRNNL Council and will replace documents Standards of Practice for Registered Nurses (2013) and the Standards for Nurse Practitioner Practice (2013). All registrants will be receiving a copy of the new standards in their mailbox in the near future.

The New PUBLIC HEALTH PROTECTION AND PROMOTION ACT (PHPPA) was enacted on July 1, 2019. This Act mandates health care professionals with the DUTY TO REPORT a set of communicable diseases known as “Notifiable Diseases”.
The Notifiable Diseases list and the written report are attached to this correspondence. Please note: the diseases for which suspect or confirmed diagnosis require immediate reporting to the Medical Officers of Health (MOH) on-call.
