Updates To Tamper Resistant Prescription Pads

In accordance with the Prescription Monitoring Program Act, prescribers and dispensers administering or dispensing a monitored drug must view a patient’s medication profile prior to prescribing.

Tamper Resistant Prescription Pads (TRPP) have been updated to include a check box allowing the health provider to verify that the provincial electronic health record, HEALTHe NL, was reviewed and the time of day the review occurred. 

Licensure/Membership Renewal Deadline March 31

Please note, the 2018-19 licensure/membership renewal application, which opened on January 10, 2018, will  close on March 31 (Saturday) at midnight. Practicing licences not renewed by this deadline will expire and you will not be permitted to practice after this date/time. If you practice without a license you will be subject to late and unauthorized practice fee and possible disciplinary action.

Quality of Care NL/Choosing Wisely NL are welcoming the New Year with a new campaign about the harms and benefits of CT Scanning.
 
They want patients to talk to their healthcare provider about whether a CT Scan is really necessary and understand the risks associated with unnecessary scanning. To help healthcare providers have the conversation, they have developed the following materials:
